“It’s just real! Who you hang out with determines your future success. The time I spent in Silicon Valley changed my life. Get rid of your loser friends!!” and that’s the reality according to Gary Vaynerchuk.

Gary is an Russian serial entrepreneur, four-time New York Times bestselling author, speaker and internationally recognized internet personality. First known as a leading wine critic who grew his family’s wine business from $3 million to $60 million, Vaynerchuk is best known as adigital marketing and social-media pioneer at the helm of New York-based VaynerMedia and VaynerX. Vaynerchuk is an angel investor or advisor to Uber, Birchbox, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, among others. He is a regular keynote speaker at global entrepreneurship and technology conferences.

Ok, let’s go back about the sad truth of choosing friends, according to Gary, we need to drop those friends who are not winning but we are not rude and awful people right? Our parents taught us to love each and everyone whatever is their circumstances.  My thoughts actually is just maybe he likes us to mingle with more leaders to learn from them, to be associated with them and to be successful like them so that we can help people who are below us to succeed also.

There is nothing wrong to have mentors and be associated with people who are richer, popular and famous, it only means that you are getting there and you are in the right track. As what they say, “If you are the smartest person in that room, you are in the wrong room.”
